The light, the shadows, the bowing bush, all this came into view while on my snowshoes. It was a heavy snowfall year, and the views spectacular. There were many of these places, an opening in the high canopy which allowed the snow to fall and bend the alders, willows, cherries and other small trees and bushes. Blue shadows are my favourite, thus inspiring this true Canadian northerner.

Jennifer Caie, AFCA
Dryden, Ontario
The Canadian wild places are Jennifer Caie's subjects in painting. Her artwork is created as a direct result of time spent in Dryden, Ontario's wilderness. She also finds a deep connection while hiking the Canadian coastal regions. “Really anything that reveals the effect of wind on the land."
""On the water, or in the water”
This should be written on the transom over every one of our doors!
I do appreciate water in every form, whether frozen or fluid."
