Wandering in forests and over hillsides anywhere in the world can be challenging. However, after 25 years on the West Coast, I feel more at ease and able to appreciate the 'aloneness' of being slightly lost in nature, a single entity in the middle of it all. Many of my paintings have been born out of this environment evoking emotions in response to nature, and philosophical ideas that well up from the depth of mind. Nature forces introspection.
