A small intricate floral arrangement with unusual colours gave way to this interpretation that utilized lots of white space to 'keep out the noise' surrounding this set up. As a predominately 'en plein air' painter, I don't often do still life painting but this one was quite satisfying, like a puzzle to find the right fit of shapes and colour upon the paper with simplification.Haiku: Brushes dip in pigment-Flicks of paint break silent space-Shuffle of the mind
