After the storm
Nature's gift – a bird's nest
On the front porch.
I can't help but marvel at the wonder of a bird’s nest: such an intricate, involved creation. Somehow a small bird knew how to gather the materials and weave them together with such precision that the nest remains sturdy even after being exposed to the ravages of wind and rain.
This haiku by Stephen Bertram inspired me to gather my own hand-painted and discarded papers and create a collage nest.
I am fascinated by nests as an art form and their messy, yet graceful and functional forms.
