Holiday perspective is a painting of my girls while on a Christmas holiday together. We had booked a River cruise and Germany was on the itinerary. On one of our shore excursions, and a particularly cold December day, I noticed our tour guide standing quietly stick straight waiting for our group to assemble. We were about to move to our next location and I noticed everyone was preoccupied in their own thoughts and sights. He just quietly stood in his spot, and I wondered what he must be thinking of all of us, and I wondered why he was leading all of us around the city, when he could be home with his loved ones? Was he alone, was he doing it for the money? Or was he there because he lived meeting new people from all over the world? I couldn’t judge him because I was also present for my own reasons. I suppose being noticed by anyone is a victory in itself.
