March 12,2020 is when I was really aware of the immensity of the pandemic. People were using the phrase " we're all in the same boat" and the idea of the boat being a Hudson Bay freighter canoe with a load of mankind began to take shape. The mountain images appealed to me. Calm waters before and a treacherous rapid now, guided through by medical science is the focus. The pandemic even pervaded in the north, where people are far and few between.
