I had my canoe on the Beatton River and was able to silently sneak in on a Lynx walking along the shoreline. He went about a half mile before realizing that I was often within a paddles' length of him. At this time a friend was building a Hudson Bay York boat and a birchbark canoe. My canoe was fiberglass of course and I learned to appreciate the historical birchbark canoe and first nation traditions.
