I was intrigued by the distant storm in the late summer sky as I passed this local farm one evening. The storm mixed with the setting sun and the colour in the sky added a unique element to the scene. I chose muted purples for the sky to portray the drama. That storm darkened the horizon but stayed in the distance keeping the farm (and me as I took photos at the side of the road) safe from the rains.
There is so much depth and beauty in the sky even when the sun is not shining.

I strive to capture the light, colour and atmosphere whether I’m painting the landscape or unique still life arrangements. My goal with painting what moves me is to evoke an emotion in the viewer that has the ability to stir within them meaning, a memory or a feeling.
"The first experience I had with using pastel was in 2015 and it was love at first touch. The soft as butter feel as I moved the pastel across a surface and luscious colour of the pigment had me hooked on this wonderful medium!"
