About the Artwork

"Sometimes we need the fog to remind us that life is not black and white" quote by Johnathan Lockwood Huie.
On the next foggy day I invite you to stand for a moment and breathe in the fog that surrounds you. Actually feel the air against your skin and as it passes into your lungs; see the shapes and swirls of fog and listen to how the fog muffles the sounds. Breathe in the quiet and enjoy.

Denise Nonomura

Stratford, Ontario

I strive to capture the light, colour and atmosphere whether I’m painting the landscape or unique still life arrangements. My goal with painting what moves me is to evoke an emotion in the viewer that has the ability to stir within them meaning, a memory or a feeling.

"The first experience I had with using pastel was in 2015 and it was love at first touch. The soft as butter feel as I moved the pastel across a surface and luscious colour of the pigment had me hooked on this wonderful medium!"
