Working with glazes and many layers of adding and eliminating intuitively, the image slowly comes to life. It is always a surprise but reflects back to me how life is feeling at any point in time. The unconscious symbols many times do not make make sense until later.
Unlike my coastal landscapes which always have a design and a plan, these come from a different "direction" which is a much more difficult way for me to work. It is never easy letting go of control, but is so rewarding in the end.

Cindy Mawle’s acrylic paintings on canvas predominantly feature trees set within calming west coast scenery but can sway slightly into an “experimental zone” in order to express her unique voice.
"“Painting is the touchstone that connects me to the uncomplicated reality of nature. The subject and process relaxes me and the calm I paint upon my canvas is my offering to the world. It is just that simple.”"
