About the Artwork

This is the first painting I created of my wife, Jenny. It captures a memorable moment from our ferry cruise along Burrard Inlet. We enjoyed delicious food and live music as we glided between the city and the stunning mountains to the north, with the skyline of the city visible as we cruised southward on the Fraser River. The day was gorgeous, with a long sunset casting its warm glow over the river’s horizon—too beautiful to ever want it to end.

Chito Maravilla

SURREY, British Columbia

Outside the corporate commercial work, Maravilla works part-time as a painter. In his expansive career as a multi-faceted artist bringing to life a diverse range of styles, subjects, and themes, his works have been displayed in many venues and public spaces, such as YVR, New York, etc.

"My artwork revolves around the social nature and the surrounding landscapes of British
Columbia. I want to articulate and share my wonderment through my personal
documentation of my newfound home. Surrealism and expressionism are two common
and juxtaposing styles that resonate in my art."
