I titled this piece "Dandy" because of the dandelions the bear was eating and all the seeds blowing around however "Make a Wish" would have been a good title also. Watching the seeds whirl around in the air brought back memories of my childhood when we would make wishes before blowing the dandelion seeds off dandelion stems.
I had taken the reference photo while visiting family in northern BC. This bear was happily eating dandelions along the side of the highway but also very aware of me observing from the safety of my vehicle.
I started sketching this piece with coloured pencil when I was away from home, sitting in my car waiting for an appointment. I later finished it at home and included using NeoArt oil/wax pastels although it is predominantly coloured pencil.
