About the Artwork
With outstretched arms, this inukshuk (on one of the summits of the quartzite La Cloche Mountains in Northern Ontario) seems to welcome all who venture into Bay of Islands.
This area of the north shore of Lake Huron (my home for the past 19 years) is rich in Canadian history, having seen voyageurs, a North West Trading Company Post, Canada's first nickel mine and was painted numerous times by members of the Group of Seven.
