About the Artwork

As winter approaches and the grey skies colour everything we see, we yearn for the colour green and the return of spring. This small still-life painting depicts the traditional tools and ingredients for making green paint. Once in a while, I'll make my own paint, mulling powdered pigment that I buy on my travels with linseed oil, the binder.
