This painting is a semi abstract work inspired by a bouquet of blooms which engaged me to examine my responses to the subject matter which has always been a popular choice when working on my expressionistic, experimental paintings. I endeavor to let the painting develop in its own unique manner without imposing too many rules and allowing intuition to guide me with the finished compositio. I apply texture and some mixed media like rubbing alcohol to the surface to the canvas and later overlaying with loose transparent washes . I build up the composition with pure color and bold brush strokes .I overlay with opaque pigment surfaces to unify the composition. I was inspired to work with floral paintings because they offer the artist a cornucopia of choices for the painter to explore and celebrate the joys provided by Mother Nature that may be explored recorded and painted each season.. .
