In our garden grows a fabulous 60 year old lilac tree and every spring we are treated to the loveliest display of blooms: light and dark purple panicles at the tip of nearly every branch. I paired the lilac tones with a richly coloured contemporary vase made in the oldest ceramics factory in the Netherlands. Painted from life, with the intention to represent the scene as delicately as it deserved.
This piece will not be included in the physical exhibition on Granville Island but meets the quality standards of the FCA and is classified as, "Recognized Artwork."
