Wickaninnish Beach in Tofino is one of those rare places where nature feels both wild and welcoming. Towering coastal trees frame the shoreline, while the endless Pacific stretches beyond, creating a landscape that is both intimate and expansive.

This painting was inspired by a quiet moment along the trail as it opened onto the beach. The winding path, weather-shaped trees, and glimpse of ocean beyond drew me in, inviting a sense of discovery and connection to the natural world.

There is something truly special about Tofino and the West Coast. Time seems to slow down here. Surrounded by ancient trees, fresh ocean air, and the sound of waves rolling onto the shore, it feels as though you have stepped into another world—one defined by peace, beauty, and a deep connection to nature.

Using layers of pastel, I focused on capturing the light filtering through the trees, the rich textures of the coastal vegetation, and the calming presence of the ocean beyond.
