After my father passed away unexpectedly last year, I began researching my family history in earnest. With every generation being born in a different country and on different continents, it has been difficult. As the few photographs I have found have been damaged and are fading fast, I have begun documenting my family history in paintings. My daughter was given the name 'Anna' in honour of the stories we have heard and so I wanted to honour the memory of ancestors in this way.

"Even after completing and exhibiting my work numerous times throughout the years, I still question myself. I wonder if I'm good enough but then remind myself to focus on the process, not the end results."
