About the Artwork
This portrait was painted as part of the Portrait Artist of the Week. Bernadine Evarista is a Booker Prize winning author and as a delight to paint. I consider the whole series a step out of my comfort zone and “Painting on the edge” because I have not painted portraits, in the past. What an exciting challenge and learning experience to convey the “life” of the sitter.
