C$1,400
Much of my recent work takes as it starting point the question “Who am I as…” which I then play with till I know the answer. Somehow the phrase “lion tamer” showed up, and I paired it with an extravagent jacket. While I wasn’t able to paint the pose itself from life, I had the jacket hanging next to the easel all through the process, and it urged me forward!
