About the Artwork

This painting is a reflection on how individual experience effects relationship within community. Two people the same age who live in the same community can have drastically different experiences because of their race, gender, abilities, awareness, and felt experience. Siblings can have a surprisingly varied experience of their same upbringing. Even though we are interconnected, because our life experiences are incredibly individualized, we are also alone.

Ironically, this fundamental “alone-ness,” also unifies us into a collective experience, which connects us as well.
