This work pays homage to the honeycomb sandstone formations at Retreat Cove on Galiano island where the shoreline is predominantly sandstone, and features amazing tafoni.
The painting is a portal to a world of wonder, where history meets stone, and each stroke narrates ancient tales. Retreat Island’s trees; Arbutus, Douglas fir, and Garry oaks invite the viewer to explore further into the painting.

Galiano Island, British Columbia
My work celebrates the beauty of Galiano Island and the rhythms of wild joy that connect everything in and around this little island. Recently I have been exploring the night sky, playing with the shapes of light and dark cast by the light of the moon.
""When painting our long narrow island I am tuned into the rhythms of open sky and ocean that weave through the tapestry of rock and forest connecting us all""
