About the Artwork

A fleeting moment as we sailed past this slope in the helicoptor. Walls of huge tumbled stoneworks rimmed the alpine hilltop where we spent the morning painting. As always, my fascination for the the patterns of the snow and ice draws me into to this complex subject. Looming bluffs of dark stone mountain face contrast with sweeping icefields. Everchanging light sweeps across all the rock and snow, with glowing ice and drainage from the glaciers.
